They Need Our Help

The Guild received a request from Terry McKinley, a former pediatric nurse at RVH.  She is now working 2 weeks a month in public health nursing in the remote indigenous community of Bearskin Lake.   She wondered if the Guild would be interested in donating crib sized quilts for the babies that live in the community. Her hope it to received 2 – 3 quilts twice a year.

The community of Bearskin Lake is an Oji-Cree First Nation Reserve in Kenora District located 425km. north of Sioux Lookout   The community serves a population of approximately 900 and can only be accessed by air.

If you are interested in donating a quilt, it can be given to Barb Bull who will contact Terry McKinley directly.
